Bob -

My car came loaded wif dem blue bulbs from the kooky PO. Then I replace lows
w/ HID kit, and highs with a quality super white bulb (Narvas or Osrams or
something I dunrecall but NOT a blue-white bulb).

IMO the blue-whites are 'meh' in terms of true benefit... barely if any
brighter than OEM bulbs, and less good for true driving illumination because
the color is less effective. And bulb life is proven to be much worse with
most blue-white bulbs.

But color temp might indeed match a bit better if that's bugging you (and
depending on your HiD bulb temp... assuming you chose a smart low-temp HID
the gap to close will be much smaller). IMO the OEM high beams are more
than sufficient, so even if the faux-white/blue bulb isn't quite as bright,
it might still be OK and solve your bulb-color dissonance issue.

For me, I am totally comfertible livin with the "white vs.
ever-so-slightly-yellow shift" when hitting the high beam switch...
basically with the HIDs my lows AND highs kick ass so any color difference
between them is unimportant to me.
