Greg, you're best served by searching the D2 forum @ Quattroworld.  There's a FAQ there that should be quite enlightening.  There ARE a myriad of things to look for / look out for, certainly...  like any Audi - d'oh.  Shortshort version?  Transmissions once they get to 120k are suspect (but at 120k in a 360hp 4k lb AWD sedan... is this really a surprise?), trans and front diff leaks, oil cooler leaks, control arms, and intake actuator arms.

Beyond that, they're incredulous.

THAT said however...  4yrs / 70k in mine have been sheer bliss.  Every day awesomeness that has only strengthened with each mile.  Very rewarding ownership experience...  ONCE sorted 8-).  Every day is a WOT gigglefest for me, it's that good.  Despite those that'll diss the 'Tip...  I'll say it's 'sufficient' - once you acclimate / accept it's behavior.  It's not bad, just could be 'better'.

And @ today's market prices - a tremendous amount of car for the doughrayme.
