OK... I've gotta relay my experience:

I've had the 993 brakes with both 323mm OE rotors, and later with the 993 rotors on custom hats. My car squealed beyond belief... downright embarrassing. I tried the goop to no avail... no improvement. I tried it because I really didn't want to buy 8 little metal backed adhesive discs. No dice.

The discs did the job first time up.

Oh, and my first pads were Textars. Just as noisy for me. I switched pads down the line because the Textars are very dirty.

YMMV

Did you glob the backs of the pads with anti-squeal goop? Best solution in
my experience. Springs are more for "anti-rattle" but won't necessarily
always dampen high freq vibration noise which the goop will do. Also the
stick-on anti-squeal pads that go on the back which some pads come with...
I've been known to use both. Don't know anything special about 993TT setups
maybe there's a trick there but haven't had brake squeal in years doing the
goop, and that's on a combo of boxster brakes & OEM's.
