[s-cars] stalled, won't restart

My '95 S6 (192k miles, fuel pump replaced 11k miles ago) stalled on my way
up my driveway the other night. Restarted once and ran roughly briefly,
then stalled again and won't restart. It acted just like it did when my
fuel pump failed last year.
However, when I jumper fuse 17, the fuel pump runs for about 10 seconds and
stops. Is this normal? Does the fuel pump have an internal high-pressure
switch that shuts it off?
I did open the fuel line at the firewall and check for flow, plenty of flow.
I wish I had the right fittings to make up a tee to put a pressure gauge in
the fuel line-anyone make one up? (I do have an old fuel rail assembly with
the female fitting.) What are the signs of a failed FPR?
Got a 4111 code which Bently relates to injectors. Where is fuse 23? My
06/95-built car does not correspond 100% with Bently on wiring!!! Have
checked all fuses in driver's door jam, under hood, and passenger kick panel
area. Also ran the injector test (jumper, ign on, WOT & release) and all 5
injectors click, so I think we are good with power to the injectors.
After clearing the ECU, I only get a 2111 code (RPM sensor) which I believe
is normal on a non-running car (and RPM sensor tests OK for resistance.)
Any ideas what to check next?

P.S. I guess I can't get too much better as to location for the car to break
down, although it could have waited until I pulled into the garage! :-)
