Tim,
Do you know Carter Balckom? He's A3/4/5 product manager, and is also the one that looks after the vintage cars that AoA keeps. I thought if anyone within AoA could empathize with our plight, he may. A number of us "vintage" Audi owners are in need of many NLA parts for our cars, one of which that has been a subject of recent conversation being floor mats with either Audi rings or the "quattro" lettering, etc. Audi no longer supplies them, and the one known aftermarket supplier, Lloyds, was forced to stop offering their (better than OEM) mats with anything related to Audi or quattro embroidered on them because of legal threats from AoA. I understand Audi's position in wanting to protect it's copyrighted and trademarked property, but it would seem to me that in cases such as these, Audi could, for a (hopefully reasonable) fee, license the use of the rings (or quattro or
//S logos) for use where they no longer supply mats. We take pride in our old cars, and many of us, including myself, also own a fleet of new Audis to keep our "vintage" cars company.
Any thoughts or suggestions as to whom I might direct my efforts within AoA if Carter isn't our guy?
Thank you.
