Konstantine,

Sounds like it could be the front CV joint, the grease get stiff from the heat
of the exhaust.
The CV joint can be regreased.

Or it could be the rubber carrier of the center carrier bearing is weak/broken
allowing it to flex.

Chris

Subject: [s-cars] exhaust started to touch body

  Hi All,
gradually groaning sound when I start moving became too noticeable and I
started poking around.  I found that exhaust pipe is very close to
protective alumina shield (pipe is skewed from center to the side) and
it is too close to ... don't know how it is called ... but it is bolted
to the body and servers as protection from exhaust pipe falling down.
Does it say that engine mounts or tranny mounts sagged?
Also, the down pipe  caught a starter lying on a road and it got a very
noticeable dent.  Could it cause a damage to exhaust manifold?  But the
groaning/rambling sound happens only when I start moving.  I think it
can not be a crack in the manifold.  Am I right?

Thank you.
Konstantine
