[s-cars] 2001 A4 1.8T Questions

Sorry for the lack of UrS content, but I need help.  My GF just bought
a 2001 A4 sedan with the Tip tranny.  The engine response is not what
I would expect for this car.  The mechanic doing the pre-purchase
inspection said the pressure at the intake manifold was below spec for
the engine.  It looks like someone recently bolted a new cold side to
the turbo.

Before she tries to escalate the problem with the seller, I want to
check for boost leaks.  Are these models prone to leaks at the
moisture trap and or CPU?  Can anyone give me the location for these
two items in the A4.

Any other suggestions on things to check that can be done without special tools?
