[s-cars] Sunroof switch cover-repair - Magnet fix?

Gentz,

wasn't their a "fix" someone did involving button magnets?
I seem to recall that instead of using the clips, magnets were attached (glue
double sided tape) to the backside of the cover and held the
cover inplace by stick (magneticly) to the metal of the car.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

HTH
Chris

Hey Paul,

FAIL!

That's one of the four I've used. It lasted 100% longer than anything else,

2 days instead of 1, once installed....

Next stop, JB Weld, unless someone talks me out out of it.

I've had good luck using Devcon Plastic Welder on the clips. It's a 2-part
methacrylate glue, and it seems to adhere to the plastic cover better than epoxy
does.
I put additional glue over the clip to strengthen the bond, taking care not to
interfere with the spring action of the clip.

I think you can get it at Pep Boys, Autozone, etc.
