cody, you are correct thaT 290 UNITS = 2.9 HRS....thats bench time not including
r&r....also does not include replacing differential etc etc....dealers typically
pile the labor times together until they get something they like,........race
car stuff is by the clock or by the book, which ever comes out in your
favor...........................m

Subject: [s-cars] ElsaWin labor times
Anybody know what an ElsaWin/VW labor unit represents? If it says 290 labor
units I'm thinking that's 2.9 hours. Some things seem to make sense this way,
others don't. I'm looking at a '89 Cabrio for example. Things like 90 units (0.9
hours) for alignment check (not adjust), and 70 units to replace front brake
pads make sense. 290 units to disassemble and reassemble the manual transmission
seems quite low. I'm installing a limited slip diff in a 020 transmission
equipped Scirocco race car and trying to find suggested labor times. '89 Cabrio
was as close as I could get ElsaWin to get me (it glitched when I tried to
select any '83/84 model year car). NoData is of no help in this case either.
