[s-cars] S'fest suspension Dr.

The slight noise from the rear of your car is likely the joints at trailing
or leading links in the back. The boots start pulling back, the grease dries
out and then they start to squeak...quietly at first, then eventually
embarrasingly. I nursed my 200's along by use of a grease needle, and then
sold the car before I had the chance to replace, so no idea on cost. Knock
on wood, the UrS is fine so far.
As for lowering suspension that has a nearly stock ride, I dunno if the
Eibach/Bilstein combo would fit the bill enough for ya, but my car will be
there at //S-fest if you want to try it out. I picked Eibachs (over H&R's,
which I had on my 200Q) for that very reason and after getting a ride in Chi
Wong's 200 20VT with the same combo. I think it's a pretty good compromise,
definitely firm (and pretty good handling...for Miss Piggy) but never harsh.
As for sway bars effecting ride harshness, they really shouldn't have
*too*much material effect on ride harshness except for on rather
uneven surfaces.
Can't say with any real experience on the Audi (my HSRB is still in the
Rossato bin) but I've noticed a minimal (more noticeable in terms of slight
nervousness when cornering on rough surfaces than anything else) effect on
some pretty big bar work on my Solo2 Saabaru, which is a much smaller (both
in WB and track) and lighter car, so in general it should "feel" more in
terms of ride. I'd say sway bars are pretty "ride quality" safe as a mod, so
long as you don't go too extreme.
