Fuel pressure regulator or pump would be where my money would go if I were a bettin' man.

Subject: [s-cars] Odd no start, then start today
Hey guys,
Had an odd occurrence this morning. My usually very reliably starting '95 S6 avant had a difficult time waking up this morning. Usually on the third or fourth crank she fires right up. Today, crank crank crank crank crank crank crank. Nothing. Several more tries at this, nothing. Throttle to the floor, nothing. Pop the hood, nothing seems out of the ordinary. Crank it again several more times and finally wakes up and settles into a normal idle, no sputtering, etc. Drives normally. Has started normally ever since. Was just driven last night, gas needle was just barely in the red zone, and ambient temp in Eagle Colorado at 10am was 20 degrees and sunny.
Plugs and boots were replaced less than 10K ago. CPS sensor replaced within 30K. I have had an intermittent stumble under WOT around 4K rpm's that has become more frequent and more severe, and will be troubleshooting that when I get a moment. Runs well as long as I drive a bit less spiritedly. Any connection?
Any thoughts? Going into a very busy winter, I need reliability, so if there are any preventative maintenance items I can do, feel free to add.
Thanks a bunch and have a great Holiday Season!
