This is unlikely your primary problem, but medium-long crank times (like
what you describe for your 'normal' start) often a sign of leaky
injectors or a leaky FPR. With the FP gauge installed I can watch the
rail pressure leak down over an hour or so when my old OEM injectors are
in, but when my clean 'blueprinted' injectors in it stays high for
days. LIttle leaking like that not a huge problem but if you want to
fix it, solution is either new injectors or have the old ones serviced.
Sounds like you have a more significant problem than that though.

Today, crank crank crank crank crank crank crank. Nothing. Several more tries at this, nothing. Throttle to the floor, nothing. Pop the hood, nothing seems out of the ordinary. Crank it again several more times and finally wakes up and settles into a normal idle, no sputtering, etc. Drives normally. Has started normally ever since. Was just driven last night, gas needle was just barely in the red zone, and ambient temp in Eagle Colorado at 10am was 20 degrees and sunny.

I have had an intermittent stumble under WOT around 4K rpm's that has become more frequent and more severe, and will be troubleshooting that when I get a moment. Runs well as long as I drive a bit less spiritedly. Any connection?
