Hey guys,

After a second episode of no start yesterday morning without the eventual startup, and with the thankful suggestions of the list, I've decided to replace the fuel filter and FPR, since they are somewhat regular maintenance items and come fairly inexpensively.  Decided to go with Bosch parts on both, and will tackle this on Monday when they arrive.  I've done the filter before, but not the FPR.  Any BTDT or writeups to give me an idea of what's involved with the FPR?  Should I do one before the other?

Also curious as to, if replacing these does not work, if I can test the Fuel Pump while still in the tank without any special "fuel metering/pressure" tools or anything?  On every other audi I've owned, the pump has always made a distinctive noise when pressuring the system upon startup.  I'm not hearing that now, and in all honesty, don't remember noticing it before this no-start condition.  Anyone else's fuel pump make a discernible noise upon startup?
