[s-cars] In Search of a 6-Speed Allroad

I concur, the C5 S6 should be on your list. I did the search for the 6
speed allroad but after driving one wanted another S6. As noted, the
suspension on the allroad needs an upgrade to be at the level of an S car
and its expensive to maintain.
Three months ago I sold my tired C4 S6 with 280K miles to my mechanic and I
don't miss the Manual. I really thought I would, but I have to say that
Audi did a great job upgrading the C4. Tiptronic, especially in Sport mode
gives great control and power when you need it.

The C5 S6 is perfect without a 6 speed manual gearbox. If it was a little
lighter, I may agree with you.
The thing is a battleship. You have to drive one for an extended period of
time to get it. 187k & I wouldn't have it any other way.
Joe, that oughta get the troops riled up today, Pizzo

Plan B: buy an S6 Avant with a bad tranny and do a six speed swap. Fully
documented on multiple sites, parts readily available. It will be cheaper
than the AR, and there's less to go wrong.
