[s-cars] In Search of a 6-Speed Allroad

I picked up a 2005 allroad 6-spd with RNS-E in Sept. As others have
stated, the stock suspension is absolutely horrible when you're used
to the UrS6 with Eibachs & Bilsteins. Think '70s Cadillac/Buick type
handling. But you get used to it. Supposedly the Hotchkiss sway bar
kit does a lot to fix that, as does the Arnott Gen II airbags and
Bilstein shock kit.
As for the automatic, for me it's manual or nothing. If I had to
spend an hour+ commuting everyday through stop and go traffic then I
could understand an automatic, but personally I would get another job
or take the bus before getting an automatic. It's a sense of
involvement for me. I don't care how good the latest alphabet soup
autos are, or whether they're faster than a manual. The driver is
that much more removed from the equation and every one of them that
I've driven bore me to death after 10 minutes.
And if you get an automatic allroad it's only a question of when, not
if, you will have an expensive repair waiting for you. The torque
converters will fail, no if, and, or buts.
