Ron,

Short answer to all of that is; it depends.

Depends on budget and how fast you want to go.

These cars can be made to go very fast.  Some of them here are the fastest
machines on earth.

But with going fast comes brakes, suspension and innumerable other things.
Eventually you wind up with a 

car that cannot be easily replaced except for a lot of moneyJ

I've had chance to drive the new to me avant more now and it's dejavu all
over again sitting in there, but the 

the performance is quite diff.  The new one turbos up pretty well to 3800 or
so then poops while the rs2 version just 

gets going about then and keeps pulling until mach 1.  

Right now I am of the mind that it will buff out quite nicely.  Touch up a
couple of rust spots and replace a molding and it 

could be one of the nicer BuenosAires taxi's around.  Im thinking perfect
car for son to use at university next year.  (Cept he still has 

to learn manual.  Can fly a plane but not drive a manual?:/)

So, in my case, I am just going to try to make it as bullet proof as
possible.

YMMV,

But I'd say out of the box, a urS needs at least a better suspension and a
chip.
