[s-cars] HVAC Error Codes - What do they mean?

I did a write up on the audifans wiki:
http://www.audifans.com/kb/Climate_control_flap_actuator_motors
There is a link halfway down the page to the diagnostic codes on the climate
control head.
There's a link at the end to a German web site that did a really good
write-up (in German) with lots of pictures.
First thing to check is the central flap motor (blue connector). This is
what decides the ratio of air sent to the centre vents to the amount sent to
the Footwell/Defroster flap. Unfortunately, you need to dismantle the centre
console to get to it. Apparently if this motor is faulty, it causes error
codes for the other motors to be generated, so you've really got to fix this
one first.
The easiest flap motor to get to is the temperature flap motor (black
connector). This is in the plenum between the engine bay and the firewall
and in LHD drive cars needs the wiper mech to be removed (I think).
It's up to you whether you decide to replace or repair the flap motors. I've
repaired lots - they usually last three or four years compared with new ones
which typically last eight to ten years.
