I was getting the high pitched dentist's drill sound on my 1.8T A4 around
60k miles.
That was a meticulously maintained car with regular oil changes every 5k
with M1 0W40.
Like Cody said, the 2.7tt have much higher failure rate due to the location
of the turbos making them run very hot.
