That's a shame.  I was in a bind one day at my parents' home in Mclean and found my wife's A4 Avant way low on GOO2000 and at the time didn't know there were readily available alternatives and being Sunday the dealer was closed.  This same Paul Dyson (most likely, he had an UrS6 at the time) was kind enough to give me about 3/4 of a bottle and wouldn't accept payment for it.  Really helped me out.  On the other hand, I've had a similar experience buying an allroad from a seller in Kansas.  After agreeing to terms on EVERYTHING, me buying plane a ticket, sending him my flight itenerary, him agreeing to pick me up in KC and drive me back to Lawrence where the car was, etc... When I called him on the morning of the deal from Atlanta where I switched planes, he acted like he had no idea who I was and no recollection of agreeing to pick me up, etc. Luckily he hadn't sold the car and still honored our agreement on price, and I got off with a $95 car rental and drove to Lawrence myself, in the snow.

Just want to let everyone know to be cautious of a poster on Audifans named Paul Dyson from Mclean, VA. Paul and I had a verbal and written agreement that I was to buy his car to be picked up within 7 days from 7/9/11. I spent the time and resources to do the usual pre-purchase things such as carfax, moved some money around to secure funds, made travel arrangements & purchase tickets, etc. I offered to paypal a deposit for the car on 7/9. Below is a copy of Paul's response. However, Paul called me this morning and said there is "Somebody at my door with money right now and he wants to buy the car."  I asked Paul how this other buyer came into the picture when the car was sold as we had a verbal and written agreement. We discussed our agreement and that I was going to pick up the car no later than this Wednesday as we agreed in our phone conversation and emails. Needless to say, I will not be buying the car from this dishonorable seller. 

 

 

Here is the exact email the seller sent me on 7/9/11 at 2:45 PM I cut and pasted (with the exception that I deleted his street address)
