[s-cars] Wylie Bean - Tach Issues

Crazy as it is, after I posted that it was working again, it stopped again shortly thereafter. Then, as if the morning wasn't already a barrel of laughs, I had a low coolant light pop on, so I pulled over (into the Audi dealer parking lot of all places) to top it up. Afraid to shut the engine down, I pulled the hand brake with the car in neutral, and immediately I noticed the tach jump up and begin working. Put the brake down, no tach. Pull it even the slightest amount, just enough to illuminate the "brake" light in the cluster and the tach worked again. I had about a 30 mile drive in front of me, in which time the tach was inop except when I took two interstate off-ramps and for a short time afterward, when it worked. I went to lunch with a client in his car, and when I returned to mine 90 minutes later it worked and has worked ever since. I'm probably still going to pull the cluster because my autocheck is flaking on me a little and I've already re-soldered the conections for that once, so it may need that again. This is the first time the tach issue has ever surfaced though, and while it was going on, all the other gauges seemed to be working fine. Weird.

Willie Bean, Please keep us updated if you find anything out about the tach.
I have the same problem myself. I pulled the cluster and did a visual but
everything seemed to be ok so i'm not 100% on where to go from there
Thanks, Chris
