[s-cars] Need tires

Just a data point - if any of you need tires now or in the near future, BUY NOW!
We have been hit with 2-3 increases from most manufacturers in the last 5 months ranging from 6-10%. With the price of oil as it is, the price of most tires will reflect same very soon if not already. Nokian is the only brand I know of (I'm sure there are others) that is switching to Canola/Rapeseed oil as raw material to be more "green" and use renewable resources. Short term however - prepare to take a $$ hit. 
Just sayin.

I just put a set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw GTZ's on my car. Can't really report on 
hem yet, other than that they have a very smooth
ighway ride with very little noise, but they were cheap - just under $400 for 
he set of 4 235/45-17's, shipped - which is my main 
criteria these days.

My son just bubbled a second Toyo Proxes 4 on his C4 A6. With one that my wife 
ubbled a couple of years ago, that makes three.
So I'm looking for a set of 225/50/16 tires for his car, high performance all 
eason. He runs Nokian M&S tires in the winter, so three season performance is 
ey.
Any recommendations? Anybody have a set they don't need? (he is a college 
tudent on a budget...)
