Dave, the intercooler is on the driver's side front, directly in front of
the wheel. You may have to pull the belly pan (if your car still has it) to
see it. Otherwise look through the plastic grill on the bumper, it's there.
I have an MTM chip, stage I. It does the trick. My old 5000 TQA had an
Intended Acceleration Stage I chip, and that car was fast. IA did make S6
chips, I'd recommend them but I don't know if they're still in business. I
like the MTM chip, too. The car is stealthy fast. Not off the line, mind
you, but I can easily leave people in the dust on the highway or on ramps if
I want.
Other mods I've done is a full Stebro exhaust (I hear they're hard to deal
with now, and that they should be avoided) + RS2 exhaust manifold. I've
never gotten around to doing the brake upgrade with the Porsche big reds/big
blacks, but I hear that is a nice one.
Too much snow in my area to lower it. I like the clearance when things get
deep.
If you want to go crazy, do the whole RS2 thing and bring it up to Euro
specs. It will be fast. Crazy fast.
You will be able to do a lot with your car. These things are bulletproof and
just keep going and going and going. One of the best cars I've ever owned,
perfect for hauling tons of gear + people and real sleepers, so you don't
get singled out by The Man when you're going fast in a group of cars on the
highway.
Enjoy. . .
