[s-cars] tire question

Hi Lee,

The thing about all season tires is that they're really not good for any
season. It would probably be better to stretch the use of the winter tires
through the "mid seasons" than use an all season. Then just get good summer
tires.

This is what I'm doing in the Canadian snow belt!

There are two cyclists still around today cause I had good summer tires on
my cars - Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport XL on my Jag XJ8 and Summimoto
HTR Z III on the S6.

Just my 5 cents worth.

Subject: [s-cars] tire question

Folks,

I need to throw a set of tires on my '99 A6 avant. I've been running
Toyo Proxes, 245/40/17 size, on an upgraded suspension (Bilsteins, H
Sport bars, stock springs)

I am looking for three season tires. I run dedicated winter tires on
separate rims. These tires cannot be pure summer tires, as I will run
them in the spring and fall, and they may see a flake or two in those
seasons.

I'm thinking about the Bridgestone Potenza RE970 All Season. They
replaced the 960, which were pretty well regarded.

Is anybody running these tires for similar use? Does anyone have other
recommendations?

Has anyone run the equivalent Falkens, the Azenis PT722? They're not on
tirerack.com, so I don't know much about them, except that they are
about $50 less expensive per tire...

Thanks!

Lee
