Thanks James and that's great news. I have had a problem for many years
with the car starting in sub-zero temperatures and sometimes stomping on the
passenger floor would allow it to start. I have had the ECU out many times
looking for bad connections, but never thought to check those fuses. I did
find that it was always a lack of spark when it would not start, but just
moving the car would often allow it to start. I am guessing that those
fuses would then reset with the slight vibration. I'll change them right
away.

Hi Jerry,
none whatsoever, no problems, and if you do a further search you will find
that the S6 switched all of them to regular blade fuses.
Everyone was debating the same as you, there had to be a reaon for putting
the Thermal Fuse, and likely at the time there was... but Audi also found
the choice of using a reset fuse (thermal fuse) had a downside, which was it
could cause an intermittent symptom, which only masks the real problem... so
with the S6 model they did away with the reset (thermal) fuse and went with
regular fuses.
Do yourself a favor, make the switch!
BR, /James

James
I saw your article on the S72 15 amp fuse in the 93 S4. Have you had any
problems with replacing that fuse with a standard 15 amp fuse? Since the
S72 is a reset fuse, have you ever had the standard fuse blow and shut you
down? There must be a reason that they did not use a standard fuse,
thinking that this fuse will occasionally blow and then reset.
