I'm fairly new to the urs world having bought my totally stock '95 w/51Kmi
last Fall. It just turned 62Kmi yesterday and I started keeping accurate gas
consumption records on fuelly.com a couple of months ago. I'm listed as
"Black Car" on:
http://www.fuelly.com/car/audi/s6/1995
Most of my driving is on rural two lane roads between 500-2000 ft ASL. I've
got a fairly heavy foot and have never gotten exceedingly high mileage. This
car with new plugs, O2 sensor and filters seems to average 21-22 on 91-93
oct ethanol handicapped gas. Running stock tire size (225/50 x 16 ) as well.
On the one tank of ethanol free 89 oct I saw 24 mpg. The several other '96
cars returning better mileage on fuelly.com appear to have been RS-2 or
similarly modified and are apparently more efficient. I would imagine you'd
see more like 25-27 mpg at your altitude. YMMV
