I should have said convince, not sell. I wasn't implying that you were making a sales pitch. Sorry for that.

I did specifically say I wasn't trying to sell anybody on anything. I merely pointed out another option for people that weren't aware it existed.

OK... you can disagree. But we were talking about Rotella, not M1. Rotella is 100% synthetic. At 9.60/liter, that's still nearly twice as expensive as Rotella, plus I would have to pay for it to be shipped to me.

I can appreciate that you like the product. But you're going to have a very difficult time selling me on a product that's twice as expensive with no measurable reason why I should go that direction.

Let's look at my Jeep. 330,000 miles, a 5000 mile oil change interval, and 6 quarts each change. In those 330k miles, I would have spent nearly $2000 extra changing my oil with Motul vs. Rotella. That's arguably more than it would cost me to rebuild a cast iron American V8.

I like good oil and want my engine to be protected, like everyone. However, there is a point of diminishing returns. Companies that manage large fleets agree, and that's why you'll never see "exotic" oil used in those operations. It simply doesn't make any mathematical sense whatsoever.

Buying that sort of "special" oil, Royal Purple, Amsoil, and others, IMO, just makes you feel good. I'm spending more $ therefore it must be better. No one's going to tell me that any of those specialty companies have a fraction of the budget or technology to compete with Mobil or Shell. Check out what goes on in F1 with Shell.

Just my .02

I disagree, it's actually more like $9.60/l. Yeah it's a little more expensive than M1, but it's 100% synthetic unlike Mobil 1. Anyways I'll leave anybody interested to do some research, enjoy!

It's probably the fact that it's $11+ per liter.

I know it's not an option listed, by I'd like to throw Motul in the mix. They
are ramping up US availability and have a good product. I'll admit that I am a
dealer for them, but that isn't why I'm writing this. I pursued becoming a
dealer for them because I believe in the product which I was using long before I
became a dealer. I'm not even going to list my employers info nor suggest
purchasing from me as I don't have much stock yet.

is, or even if I'm right...
