[s-cars] Bilsteins

Hi Duncan;
I put the Konis on my '94 UrS4 and was quite pleased with them. It took a
bit of fiddling to get them adjusted right, but once adjusted they worked
well. I did adjust the fronts several times over the years to compensate for
the effects of wear. The fronts can be adjusted with the shock in the car
but the rear struts have to be removed and disassembled to adjust the shock.
When my UrS6 needed shocks, I went with the stock Boges/Sachs and I'm
pleased with them as well. To my mind the advantage of the Konis is that you
can adjust out the effects of wear and extend the useful life of the shock a
bit, but personally I'll go with the Boges again next time - good control
and they don't seem to wear as fast.

Looks like there is a Koni sale on at the moment, so I can get Konis for
around $100 cheaper than the Bilsteins.
I have konis on my Porsche 944, and had them on my Coupe Quattro with no
real probs. Any major gotchas for an UrS4?
A quick google shows strong opinions on both sides, in which case I might go
for the cheapest option (koni).
Any lister feedback here?
No sub zero temps here, unless I go to the mountains and my UrS4 is an auto,
makes me want to cry that you guys state-side got all the manual ones...!
Being an auto, I don't really thrash it too much.
Cheers
Duncan
