[s-cars] [urq] Audi brake booster "J" hose

Point taken, Dennis. I needn't be so critical of someone reaching out
who has problems. I am the list guy that says "I told you so",
because so many will ignore a small drip from the bottom of the hose
until it soaks the insulator, requires a few top-off hydraulic fluid
additions (the $21/L or more is the attention getter), and makes a
horrible mess that includes softening the suspension bushings
before action is taken. Then, the leak becomes too large to ignore
and the cost of the replacement hose that had been mentioned on
the list several times brings forth a real crisis. I am not implying
that this happened to you-It is just why I encourage listers to face the
problem right away.

In this was the idea that there are some in the Denver area who have
had local fixes that they were pleased with. You just need to be
selective.

The bad experiences usually start with the repairman cutting the foam
insulator off and then saying, "What, you wanted to reuse that oil
soaked thing?", or, "You can't come in the shop-insurance rules", or
"I've been doing this for xx years, and don't need any amateur advice",
but you are too far into it to back out now. : ) Now, the guy has
destroyed the core you needed to get a proper repair done, which really
adds insult to an already bad situation. That is the thing I don't
want to see you experience.

Fixes: Brad Larson has a used hose for sale in the audifans
marketplace. I have a spare I keep that has been repaired by HOH that
I would
work out a quick swap. I assume you have already removed the hose to
check on the repair and now have the car disabled. Jeff Schroeder
had a local repair done somewhere in the area that he liked.

That is indeed the HOH address. Jody runs the custom repair shop and
probably had his hands on a few of the 12 hoses I have had repaired
there. I got in this circle of swapping my hose to listers who became
aware that I had a ready hose and could wait for their hose to be
repaired
for replacement-no other connection.

Repairs there are running around $85 plus shipping costs. You should
call to make arrangements, but they do next day repair service on
all these jobs. It is the shipping that takes the time or big bucks.

Let me know if I can be of help.
