[s-cars] Cabin temp sensor fan squeal-what's the fix?

What is this, Tom? You have probably picked two annoying problems
that, compared to
their usefulness, are magnitudes in difficulty to repair.
Put your finger over the little hole in the dash with the grill on
it. Does that lessen the sound
to a tolerable level? Then, remove your finger and devise some plug
for a permanent fix.
Seriously, that little fan is a real pain to reach and remove/replace.
Start with the passenger mirror dip by listing all the conditions that
must be met for the mirror
to dip. You will probably miss one or two. Everything imaginable
goes through the memory
control box. Well, you can start looking at each one, perhaps with
some additional clues, such
as, do the back up lights work?, that may send you to the reverse
switch on the transmission, or
does the mirror switch control the mirror?, so maybe the wiring in the
door is frayed or the mirror
unplugged or motor not working. It is guaranteed to occupy a
significant number of hours of your
time, probably without success.
