[s-cars] Avant hatch closing locking entire car

Hey guys,

I've been having some trouble unlocking the entire car from the avant tailgate lately, and for the first time I noticed the mere act of closing the tailgate is locking the entire car.  I can unlock the tailgate from the drivers door, and I can lock and unlock the taigate from the tailgate.  I cannot lock or unlock the entire car from the tailgate, and just closing the tailgate locks the entire car.  When I unlock the tailgate and open the tailgate, the alarm goes off, because the car doesn't "know" it was unlocked.  I suspect the wiring loom at the hinge, but was wondering if it could be the lock cylinder itself?  Any tips appreciated as always. Thanks!
