[s-cars] radar detector time; V1 or Passport 9500?

I have had the Beltronics Vector 995 for 3 years now and I think it is a great detector for the money.  It is made by the folks at Escort and it has the sensitivity of the higher end models, without all of the bells and whistles which I didn't want.  Running it in autoscan works well in every situation and it also has the option of turning off bands such as X, which isn't used by any law enforcement around me or really anywhere that I know of.  I have gotten a couple of tickets with it, but the cops were both running instant on and there were no other cars around for them to tag first so that my detector could see them.  AFAIK there is no detector that can protect against instant on.  The V1 is the gold standard according to review, professional and consumer, but for the money I don't think there is a better unit than the 995.  If money wasn't an issue with me, I'd likely go with the V1, but I have been very satisfied with the Bel.
