Tom-
Thank you so much for your incredibly detailed and generous
directions/pictures. You make a strong case to start here. I probably
will. My neighbor Abe Berman (fellow lister) bought the coil set (not
installed on the aluminum cover, but still wired together) used a couple of
years ago. I believe he was assured by the seller it was all working
properly. (Is there an "easy" way to test each?).
Oh yes, now I see how EFI has two kits available: one with coils attached
to the boots, and one with coils on the firewall.
There seems to be another school of thought out there that says the
original equipment isn't that bad and should last a long, long time (if you
don't set it on fire). Since I have the spares, might as well go that way
first.
Again, Tom, and all the rest of you all: Thanks for making this repair
seem like a community barn-raising! Seriously, I'm very appreciative of
all the support--for the neophite with the dumb questions.
