I have never owned an S6A, but I wanted one for quite a while. I had
super nice '98 A6A, but I couldn't live with the slush box and absolute
lack of power. Still a fantastic car. I finally moved away from the S6A
as a dream car due to the crazy prices and lack of a middle shoulder belt
for hauling kids. This past summer I picked up an 01 allroad with a 6 spd
in mint condition. It took about 18 months to find, but I found it just
down the road in Bristol, TN of all places. It has the stage 1 APR for 91,
93, and 104 octane, but I currently still run it stock. I have played with
91 octane and it is very fun. 309 hp I think, but gobs of torque. I just
put Bilsteins on the back when I had to replace a rear airbag. It really
helped with the bad squat it had under acceleration. I want to do the
front and eventually the H-sport bars.
I really love the car. Thinking back to my '83 GTI and then '85 4ktq days
I never thought I would have a car with a heated steering wheel, didn't
even know it existed.
