[s-cars] Do I need to bleed hydraulic system after replacing J-hose?

Tom,

This one isn't so bad. For the most part, it takes care of itself. Replace
the hose and top off your Pentosin. If a further bleed is needed, I believe
the recommended procedure was turning the steering rack lock to lock several
times with the wheels unloaded.

Subject: [s-cars] Do I need to bleed hydraulic system after replacing
J-hose?

I will soon be replacing the J-hose on my '95 S6. This is the hose that
runs from the power steering pump to the pressure accumulator or "bomb".
After I do this, is it necessary to bleed any entrapped air from the
hydraulic system? If so, can someone provide a quick how-to?

I am having my J-hose rebuilt at Spokane House of Hose. I am also awaiting
delivery of my Bentley repair manual (CD version since hard copy version
seems to be unavailable) which will probably answer this question for me if
it arrives in time.

Thanks,
Tom
