[s-cars] engine mounts?

Tom,

I put the street density mounts on my sons '04 Ultrasport and would say they
add a touch of harshness, but not bad. Had heard that ECS has the RS4
mounts, which I might have tried, at $120 each. Would not have thought that
the A4 series mounts would work for the AAN S6, but if so, maybe the RS4
mounts should be considered. The S6 mounts, however, are different for each
side, while the other options are the same.

What do you think? Going away from hydraulic mounts has some appeal, but
like I said, a little more harsh. And while I've got you, do you think that
a collapsing mount is a logical cause of the intermittent
vibration/resonance problem I've got? It would mean that the Magnaflow
mufflers and first pair of aftermarket cats were not the sole problem with
the noise.

Steve,

My intent is to replace mine with the street density mounts from 034
Motorsports. They are

reasonably priced also, a surprise. Unfortunately, I have procrastinated,
so I have no use

reports. Hopefully others can provide some reports.

Trying to figure out why I get intermittent resonance with the new exhaust.
Put it up on the lift and was really impressed with the work, mounting and
positioning of everything. Could not see how it could be making contact
anywhere. Started looking at everything and noticed a fluid stain on the
bottom of the driver's side engine mount. Could it be intermittently
collapsing and causing the problem? And the $64 question, what good ones
are available and where? Zygmunt and thepartsbin have cheap stuff that
doesn't appeal. Genuineaudiparts and ECS have them for around $160 or so.
Where and what would you guys get them? Hate to replace engine and trans
mounts again.these are only a few years old, and it was all OEM Audi parts
last time.

TIA,

Steve
