Read Fred Munro's write-up:

Also look at the excellent description on Scott Mockry's site:

No one uses 2079 (a torque wrench extension). You will need a big torque
wrench to get the 450Nm or so of torque required to refit the crank bolt. I
use a big Norbar industrial torque wrench I got for about ?50 on eBay.
I bought a 3256. I used to do it by getting my wife to wedge a big
screwdriver in the flywheel teeth, but it's too scary! I think the 3256 cost
me about ?40.
You can remove the fan from the viscous coupling if you've got enough
patience and don't mind scratched knuckles. Last time I did a T-belt, I
removed the whole coupling using a generic viscous fan spanner (bought off
eBay for ?10) and stopped the coupling from turning by putting the short end
of an Allen key in one of the locking holes and bracing the long end against
something (forget what).
Look at http://www.audiaddict.net/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=720 for inspiration
if you want cheap alternatives to the proper tools.
