Usually the guide pins are not properly lubricated and free floating.

Subject: [s-cars] Front rotor wear
Folks,
I have a BIRA system 3 on the front of my S6A. I have been happy with
he set up and it was a definite improvement over the stock Girlings.
have been running this system for about 6 years with the original
otors (slotted but not drilled). The car has probably put on 60-80K
ince the conversion with at least six track days.
When I put my summer wheels on recently, I noticed that the passenger
ide rotor has worn more than the drivers side. Any ideas on why that
ay be? The pads don't seem to be wearing unevenly side to side.
Puzzled,
D.
