[s-cars] Busted gas pedal (but good heater now)

S-Heads:

Thanks for your input on my recent heater core replacement.  Using the
abbreviated procedure w/o removing the center console I did the whole
enchilada: replaced the core and all three servos (one was bad) so I don't
have to do this ever again in my lifetime.  Def not a 3 hr job for me, but I
get in this groove like I'm prepping for F1 race and all has to be perfect.
It's very perfect.  Almost.  Two things remain:  the vacuum operated heater
valve is missing a seal and the adjacent hose with bleeder screw leaks at a
mold part line.  I intend to replace both to cure this slow leak.  Okay
three: lights in the control head are out.  Well, then there's this forth
thing.

While I was cussing at my 6'5" presence in the drivers footwell I seem to
have broken off the hinged portion of the gas pedal.  I tore a plastic
hinge, the remaining body of which seems to be riveted together with no
obvious way to remove.  Anyone BTDT?
