No point guessing about what's going on.  Just pull up channel 52 of the diagnostics and it'll tell you exactly why the compressor is shutting off:

According to that doc, the temp limit is 27F at the fresh air blower, which I think is different from the dash temp display (uses sensor in the lower grille?).
