[s-cars] Fan Clutch Question

I would only change either part on a conditional basis, i.e., when it
fails. For the clutch, when it
does not lock-up when the engine is hot or there is excess play in the
fan, and for the bearing when
it becomes noisy or has excess play. The bearing is in a sealed unit
that is press fitted in the bracket
that also supports the a/c compressor, so it is not a routine repair.

The Quattroworld forum has a lot of recent traffic on problems
removing the clutch. Maybe you might
want to read them and consider practicing removal before it is
absolutely necessary.
