[s-cars] Turbo....anyone have a loaner or one for cheap?

Very good point... but I'd think it improbable that both cats would fail at the same time, choking the engine to that extent.

At least he can determine if it's the turbo in literally minutes.

Another possibility is clogged cats- BTDT. I bought a 92 S4 that had the
same symptoms you describe. The PO spent $2K chasing what he thought was
either a boost leak or an ignition problem, and as soon as I pulled the
cats big chunks fell out and the car ran perfectly.
