Abe,

By far, one of the best forums for the TT is on quattroworld. Decent folk,
decent traffic, solid knowledge base specific to the chassis, similar
comraderie. Pop on over, pose your question, and we'll see if we can't get
you an answer or a place to start.

Subject: [s-cars] VAG Related Question: 02 Audi TT

S-heads

I've been in lurk mode for a year or so now now that my s6 is gone, but
trying to help my pop out with a conundrum. His TT is only taking about 1/4
gallon at a time at the pump before shutting off pump or overflowing filler
neck. He has tried alternate fill stations, different angles of filling,
slower fill rate, a dowel to create a vent in the filler neck opening all
with little impact. Fills ok from Gerry can though, but this is not
acceptable long term. Issue is well described in link below.

This is by FAR the best explanation of issue I've seen, albeit for a
Hyundai. His local mechanic says whole tank must be replaced to remedy issue
which necessitates half shaft removal. Tank cost is 1800 and 200 or so for
labor

Has anyone encountered this issue on another OBD 2 VAG product and if so how
was it remedied? Lots of others on inter webs seem to say Stealership
replaced tanks on many cars for same issue, but mostly B5 or B6 A4's that I
read about.

Thanks in advance

Abe
