Jay;
Based on my experience with my S6, you likely have two issues; one with the
arm and the other with the blades.
I had the same problem with poor contact on the left side of the windshield
and ordered a new wiper arm. Comparing the two arms, I noticed that the
solid cast section of the old arm (the section that bolts to the drive post)
was twisted. The new arm solved the contact problem.
If your Michelin Stealth blades are the same as the ones I looked at this
year they are a poor choice for a winter blade. The rubber cover just sits
on top of the blade and leaves the suspension points exposed. Once the
suspension points freeze up, the blade takes a set and doesn't conform to
the windshield over the entire sweep. A one-piece blade with no suspension
(like Bosch or Reflex) or a blade that is completely rubber covered is a
better choice for a winter blade. The last Michelin blades I bought were
one-piece and a better winter blade than this year's version.

Subject: [s-cars] 1995 S6 Wiper Arm upgrade
Good evening all,
We had about 8" of snow and sleet last night and it made a beautiful night
for driving through the rolling hills. Only problem I had was my wipers were
extremely ineffcient in clearing the windshied of snow and water.
Driver'side wiper (equipped with a brand new Michelin Stealth wiper blade)
was not making contact with the left side of my windshield and made driving
visibilty very difficult. This seems to happen on every C4 I have had.
I have read in the forums of fillng down the back of the wiper arm so the
angle of the arm makes bettre contact with windshield. Tried that; no
improvement. Also tried to bend the arm to compensate for weak springs in
the arm; no improvement. Besides buying a new OEM wiper arm for about $85.00
is there a better wiper blade arm from another Audi model that will fit and
work in my UrS6 and eliminate this problem once and for all? Anybody who has
BTDT with an OEM or aftermarket solution please feel free to chime in.
Thanks,
JB
