Went through this issue when rebuilding the 95.5 s6 engine - wanted to swap to the older style to avoid the "creeping" bearing that other have reported in the latest style post replacement.

Here are the part numbers I worked out - the numbers link to the images in etka

bearing bracket/housing must have changed 3 times.

'92 (US or '93 canadian)
pulley 054 119 145 NLA bearing shaft 046-119-269 and unknown part number bracket

'93-95 pulley 046-119-145 bearing shaft 046-119-269 and Bracket number 3

95.5 and on pulley 046-119-145 integrated bearing/shaft (part number listed in FAQ) and bracket #3

To make the bracket #1 work with pulley #2 and universal bearing you also need spacer ring 046-903-151..

My 95.5 is currently running Pulley #1 with shaft 046-119-269 and a bracket from a canadian '93

Hopes this helps someone in the future but you milage may vary...

Part changes confirmed on the parts fiche.  '92 cars up to #145637 have the early design.  The early parts are no longer offered, but apparently you can use the later flange and pulley with the early bracket as long as you also get something called an "intermediate ring" (046 903 151).  I'm guessing that ring mounts between the old bracket and the bearing, pushing everything out to the new location.  So, now I have to decide if it's worth $125 on top of the $90 bearing to have the new positioning. Probably not.

Forgie, I wonder if this change might explain the issue you reported here:

I'll try to get some measurements from the parts to see how much the offset changed, but 7mm should be in the ballpark.
