Gary,

I couldn't get zip ties to work any way shape or form; they always slipped off, or were interfering with the saddle that rides the pivots - instead I used a spare bicycle spoke I had laying around to make two "C" clips that attached to face of the two plastic spring holders on opposing sides. I made them short enough that once the spring was compressed I could slip them on each side then relaxed the vice I was compressing it in - that way no plastic zip ties in the saddle of the plastic spring holders.

Went pretty easy once I figured that out (and removed the front seat to clear up room for someone larger than an elf). I believe Dave Forgie posted the pics of the clips on the spring assembly on the Quattroworld forums.

Cheers,

-Randy

I need to replace the clutch pedal in the above referenced vehicle. Any advice on how to deal with the over-center spring without the aid of Audi's jig/holder will be greatly appreciated.
