[s-cars] Fixing Cracked Taillights

I just received this Euro UrS4 center taillight section:

It has a couple of cracks in the red plastic (which I knew about before purchasing) that I would
like to fix before installing it on my 93 UrS4.

I was thinking of using methylene chloride (very thin but powerful solvent applied to the taillight
cracks with a syringe when the taillight is upside down, relying on capillary action to suck the
methylene chloride into the crack and solvent weld the crack together.

I have used this before on acryllic plastic but I don't know if it will work (be too powerful) for
the taillight plastic (not sure if it is polystyrene or acryllic).

Any suggestions other than buying a perfect taillight section? (NLA and Euro anyway).
