[s-cars] Next car. Where to go from URS4?

Hi JR,
I've been thinking along this line recently myself. What could possibly come
after the URS6 (I have a S6). It has given me great service and has
generally been quite reliable.
I've looked closely at the V10 S6, S7 and S5 - I quite like the idea of a
coupe as my kids are all grown up and the one that lives at home has her own
car. But they just don't have that "Je ne c'est quoi" I'm looking for.
I reckon my S6 could for at least another 5 years - it's a 96 with 240000
kms and a great daily driver. But I'm looking for something that has great
touring capabilities for weekend trips away and gives that driving
experience. The S6 just doesn't give that confidence to take it on long
trips anymore. I did have a great trip in it this last summer but one week
after returning the clutch MC failed!!
So, the car I'm focusing on is a Jaguar XK - 2010 model year. The base model
5L V8 with 385hp or the R model which is supercharged with 510hp or XKRS
with 550hp. I looking at the base model and "tweaking" the power up to about
420hp.
Why the XK? I do own a 2003 XJ8 at the moment - my daughter's daily driver.
A great car for touring in - I did a trip from Pasadena to Ottawa in it a
few years ago - but I'd very much like a coupe. And I'm British so I am very
familiar with the history of the marque and maybe a bit biased. It is a very
well designed car, has great lines and a bit of a head turner.

I still like my URS4, but at 20 years old, I'm thinking of getting something
newer. The newer S4 models look nice, but I pride myself in the fact that I
haven't taken my URS4 to the stealership or anyplace else in the 10 years
I've owned it. I've fixed anything that went wrong myself. The newer S4
models do not appear to be anywhere near as easy to work on. That seems to
be the case for just about every car newer than the URS4 though. For those
of you who move on from your URS4 to a newer car, what did you going with
and why?
Thanks,
JR
