I can't figure out why you are trying to deal with rockauto, Paul. Is
saving
a buck or two worth trying to deal with this purveyor of substandard
parts
who has no conception of what parts belong on a UrS vehicle?

There are several online dealers in the FAQ on the Quattroworld.com
UrS4/UrS6/S2/RS2
forum that know the cars as well as provide customer service. As a
counterpoint, the forum
may give you the answers you seek without having to decide among the
offerings the sellers
list. Remember they may have many other choices that they don't take
the time to list on the
web site. Brake pad choices can vary widely on the forum so you may
get a lot of answers
that still leave you to make the decision.

I think the HPS pads you suggested could be a good choice if you make
sure you get the
correct part with the pad wear sensor. I assume that is important to
you, but regardless, there
is no reason to pay the same price for a set without the sensor. If
you bed them in properly on
new rotors they should perform better than most pads on the street
with a lot less dust. ECS
provides a lot of free information along with the sales catalog. That
is the only reason I have
linked their page-not to suggest they are the best source. In fact,
given the information on the
correct part, you can have the information you need to shop amazon or
summit racing or the
brake specialty sites for a better deal if you have the time.

I would not shop for a true performance pad since most of those need
to be warmed up
in order to perform, usually around 100ºC, so a cold morning commute
could get interesting,
but the HPS is designed for the street.
