[s-cars] Exhaust height clearance - Stromung?

Steve,

I had the same problem with low hanging exhaust on my '95 S6. The system
needed replacement about a year ago and I opted for the Stromung Gen 5. We
were able to tucked it up nicely to get more ground clearance, particularly
in the center of the car where you're most succeptible to scraping on speed
bumps, etc. I love the new exhaust. It looks and sounds great and it was
less than half the cost to replace the stock system. Talk to Jeff Postupack
about availability.

Good luck,
Tom

Subject: [s-cars] Exhaust height clearance - Stromung?

S-Heads:

My stock exhaust scrapes mercilessly over speed bumps & garage ramps. I
found that a bracket in the front had broken and had it welded which helped,
but the whole enchilada seems to make poor use of the space into which it
theoretically fits. My wrench drives an S6, too, and he says it's the same
for him.

My question:

1) Have any of you modified your stock exhaust to tuck up toward the
body for better ground clearance?

2) Those of you that have Stromung exhausts, how does the ground
clearance compare to the stock system? I've assumed that a 3" pipe would
take more space, but the stock system is so poorly fitted that I don't think
that's necessarily the case.

Bonus questions:

3) Anyone experienced with the product from BN-Pipes Germany? I think
Ned Richie and/or Alex Neckas got one.

4) Can I still get a Stromung system?

Thanks in advance!
