That return hose from the turbocharger is not actually that much of a PITA. It was a PITA for me the first time around when I replaced it with 3/8" hose from a hydraulics shop. When it leaked recently I replaced it again with another 3/8" hose from Parker Hannifin and the job went a lot easier than I expected.
Remove the TB and hose first to make room. Then pre-stretch the cut length of hose at both ends so that the 3/8" hose will go on more easily. I dipped the ends into hot water and forced 3/8" socket extensions a little into the hose. Just before installation I removed the mandrels and got the hose on asap. Easiest way is to fit the left-hand end first then whilst butting the RH-end up against the pipe, wiggle the middle of the hose to walk it onto the barbed end.
